What is Show My Homework?
Show My Homework is a simple online homework calendar showing homework information, deadlines and attachments for students. From November 2015, all students' homework will be displayed online using Show My Homework. The benefits of the system for parents are:
- You can see exactly how much homework has been set.
- It’s much easier to take part in home learning.
- Translation into 50+ languages.
- Better communication through school announcements.
Homework should never be a battle between you and your child. Show My Homework has been designed with the busy parent in mind, finally involving you in the homework process by equipping you with all the details you need to help your child to succeed. Using Show My Homework means that parents can now take a more proactive role in their children’s home learning; driving homework prioritisation and keeping tabs on your child's homework without being intrusive.
How does it work?
All teachers create and publish their homework online, on the school’s homework calendar. Parents can check the homework your son has been given, manage submission of homework and view grades for previous homework submissions.
As a parent, you can access the system by clicking the SMHW icon in the top banner of the school website or by visiting hayesbrook.showmyhomework.co.uk, and then enter your unique parent PIN number sent to you in the paper letter detailing our Show My Homework launch. If you have not received this letter, or are new to the school, please contact us the using the enquiry form or via telephone to have your PIN sent to you.
By logging in, you and your child can see just the homework relevant to you. You can review submission times, see grades and communicate with teachers around specific assignments. Forgotten passwords are also no longer an excuse - you can check for any homework set on the homework calendar without ever having to log in!
Gone are the days of lost worksheets, illegible and missing instructions:
- All homework details are accessible 24/7, long after the school bell rings
- Monitor from a distance: Stay in the loop without being intrusive
- Enjoy peace of mind and never have to deal with late-night homework battles again!
There is also a Show My Homework app for parents and students to use on their smartphones; visit your app store and search for "Show My Homework", sign in with your unique PIN number and you can access homework details direct from your mobile device. If you use the mobile app, you can even receive automatic due date reminders to let you know when you have homework due to be handed in!
